Dakota LanguageZanyA unique tideway to language learning for both Dakota and non-Dakota children, the Dakota LanguageZanyprovides an introduction to one of Minnesota's native languages. Learning is through hands-on experiences of traditional Dakota games, crafts, songs, dancing and foods.  Students will sit in a tipi to learn how it was used and furnished. As Dakota culture is rooted in the land, many words are learned during nature walks on the trappy trails in the Minnesota River Valley. Dakota teachers will moreover explain their nation's values and history. This zany is held at the historic Pond Dakota Mission Park, located on the bluffs of the Minnesota River Valley. Large grassy areas in the park are used for outdoor games.
