Parks, Arts and Recreation Commission—Advises theMunicipalityCouncil on matters related to the wanted development, improvement and maintenance ofMunicipalityparks as well as recreation and cultural arts programs. Planning Commission—Advises theMunicipalityCouncil on development proposals, minutiae standards, long-range planning and transportation issues. Port Authority—Coordinates orderly commercial and industrial development throughout the City. Current efforts are concentrated on the McGough transit-oriented development, Mall of America Phase II and surrounding lands in the South LoopMinutiaeArea. Sustainability Commission—Advises theMunicipalityCouncil,Municipalitystaff, and the polity on policies, practices, procedures and proposals that relate to the sustainable use and management of environmental resources that include air, water, energy, land and ecological resources, and waste. Members include at least one young adult member, age 16 to 23.
